Product Information

Product Name: Peanuts

Calorific Value: 540 (calories per 100g)

Composition: Peanuts

Description: Peanuts are an ideal food source and will appeal to a wide range of wild birds throughout the year due to their high content of natural oils, protein, essential vitamins and minerals. Although not a naturally occurring foodstuff for our native birds most species will readily accept them when offered and they are ideal to help wild birds through harsh or demanding times. The whole peanuts should ideally be fed from a peanut feeder, but they can be fed from bird tables and the ground, however, during the breeding season we recommend only feeding the split or broken peanuts to reduce the risk of a choking hazard for hatchlings and young birds. Peanuts can be contaminated by a fungus which produces a poison known as aflatoxin which is harmful to birds. Twootz.com select only peanuts which fall below the maximum permitted levels in law for aflatoxin to ensure the safety of wild birds.

Mine have always been of good quality.Birds eat them with relish.

This is my second delivery of peanuts from Twootz, the first was slightly broken up but that made it easier for birds to get from feeders. Second lot were totally whole and great quality, all my birds love them, especially the woodpeckers. Great value and about a quarter of the price I can buy locally. Well done Twootz!!

These peanuts were fine - good price, and not broken. No problem with the feeders and the pheasants and squirrels love them on the ground.

2nd lot of bird nuts from Twootz and I am very happy with the quality on both occasions, small whole nuts with no waste. Delivery was good, i.e ordered on Friday and delivered on Monday and at a price better than anywhere else.Great supplier .

This is my second bag of whole and broken peanuts the Blue Tits, Long tailed Tits, Starlings, Jays and the Squirrels love these nuts .The Woodpecker likes the cashew nuts best which I bought from Twoots I have to fill the bird feeders every day they can't get enough

Cheap, but a poor quality product.

Mrs commented on 2013-02-04 10:14:27 and rated it as 'poor'

If I had this review I would not have bought the peanuts. They are broken and when I put them in the feeders they fall through the holes. Will not buy these peanuts again and with the poor seed I also bought that the birds will not eat, I will not

Mine arrived fine, not sure what all the fuss is about, birdies are loving them and so much cheaper than anywhere else

Don't buy peanuts mine are rubbish....

Simon commented on 2012-03-19 12:57:03 and rated it as 'very good'

Yes it is important to break the peanuts up for the birds for sure if you are plaing them on a bird table. Best to get a feeder although some ground feeding birds like them too :-)
