It would be nice to think that birds only needed our help through the winter period, here at Twootz.com we believe that the birds need feeding all year round, especially at this time of year.

Bird Feeder

The bird world is at its peak, with birds throughout the country either breeding, nest-building or searching for a suitable location to nest, the birds are frantic. It makes their life so much easier if they know where guaranteed food and water can be found.

Twootz have a new range or feeders and tables available and remember keeping a well-stocked bird table is very important, so why not stock up, it will help your garden birds during the breeding season. Fat Balls, Suet Mixes and Fat Feasts are all perfect, they provide high calorific energy and perfect for parent birds to give to their young. Treats don’t go a miss either, Robins love Meal Worms, as do Thrushes and Blackbirds. Stock up Peanut, Niger Seed and Mixed Seed feeders and don’t forget to provide plenty of fresh water.
An active feeding station is a fantastic sight, a garden full of birds feasting on good quality food will provide great viewing, get the children involved, you could even start a garden bird list.
If you are putting up new bird boxes be sure to site them away from the feeding station, they should be placed 6-8 feet above the ground and in a position inaccessible to cats. Try and position the box facing the North east if possible, this should guard it from strong sun and our predominant westerly wind and rain.
It’s not too late to put up a box so why not give it a go, you may well get a new family moving into your garden!
So if you need feeders or food, visit our website, everything you need for the birds on one convenient site.
Remember that different species prefer different food, presented in different ways. It could be on the ground, bird table or in feeders - provide clean water especially during our summer dry periods.
