Quantity not Quality

Bird Feeding | Author: David Cole
Right!
I feel a contest coming on – and in this case it is not for the ‘best quality’ photograph of birds on a single
feeder – it is quantity – not quality that I want to see.
While I was replenishing my
feeding station and had just filled a feeder with the latest
TWOOTZ fat balls and was going back for the
peanuts - it was like a scene from the famous Hitchcock film – “Birds”.
I counted more than twenty tits of various types on the
feeding station –
Blue Tits,
Great Tits, a single
Marsh Tit, a single
Coal Tit and a party of
Long Tailed Tits – all desperate to stake a claim on the
Fat Balls.
My big pro cameras were upstairs in their cases so I grabbed a mobile phone from my pocket and managed to capture ten tits on a single
feeder at the same time – OK I’m not proud of the quality and the shutter of the phone did not stop the action – but the pictures are there.
I’m sure that
TWOOTZ regulars have crowded
bird tables too – so why not try to get a shot with as many birds on a feeder as you can – and send it in to
TWOOTZ!
I have been a pro photographer for just over sixty years and have kept up to date with digital progress – so anyone tempted to ‘Photoshop’ the odd bird or two into their picture – be warned!
Incidentally the
fat balls are really popular –
Robins,
Starlings,
Sparrows,
Chaffinches, a pair of
Nuthatches even
Blackbirds and a
Collared Dove have also been trying to get their share.
