If like me you religiously feed the birds and are on the constant look out for additional ideas to coax those birds into your garden, then, Twootz.com might just have the answer. As you know Twootz.com has been providing high quality, good value Bird, Dog, Cat, Fish and Small Animal feeds for some time now. With more and more enquiries for Live Foods, we've decided it's time to treat the birds, amphibians, reptiles and fish to something a little bit special.

We are now selling highly nutritional Live Foods, Mealworms and Waxworms. If you currently use or have used Dried Mealworms in the past you'll know how very appealing they are to the birds, imagine if those worms were waving a flag to attract the birds, because in theory that is what the Live Mealworms do. The wriggling worms actually advertise themselves by wriggling! Brilliant, no need for fancy feeders either, just use a tub, tin, bowl or tray and away you go. Mealworms and Mealworms can both be presented in this way, no mess, no fuss, no problem.

Special Treats For You Special Birds

Mealworms are the larvae of the Tenebrio Molitar Beetle or Flour Beetle to make it easier. Their diet is exactly that, flour, they are pests in the flour mills around the country but ours are bred specifically for the animal feed sector. They are vegetarian (eating only grain) and farmed in a way that keeps them safe, clean, odourless and nutritional.

Waxworms are the larvae of the Greater Wax Moth and gets its name from its diet...wax! The adult moth lays its eggs in, or near to Bee's nests and the larvae burrow in and eat the wax and honeycomb, giving it its name.

Both species of worm are extremely high in fat, rich in protein, very nutritious, clean, odourless and easy to present.

These 'Super Foods' will attract a good variety of birds into the garden, Robins, Thrushes, Blackbirds, Dunnocks, Titmice, Wrens should make a visit and depending on habitat type of your garden you could entice Woodpeckers, Nuthatch, Jay and Wagtails, fantastic.

Not only are these foods ideal for Birds, they are excellent foods for Reptiles, Fish and Amphibians. Species such as Bearded Dragons, Chameleons, Gecko's, Turtles, Terrapins, Lizards and small Snake species will all enjoy and thrive from a varied diet and a treat away from the normal feeds.

Give our new Live Foods a go and watch the birds tuck in to a surprise feast, they'll love it.

Happy Feeding!
